Big pleasure - CAT : linguistic representation of "cat" in Polish and Slovak

Animals, including cats, occupy a special place in the linguistic representation of the world. This paper is an attempt to describe their status based on data from language as a system (dictionaries and other academic publications). Text-based data which informed the analysis were considered to a limited extent, whereas data from surveys were not taken into account.
